Carnival of Shadows

Our display is a microcosm of what is going on in the world. The carnival is meant to represent fun times, togetherness, and celebration; all things which are now prohibited due to the corona virus. The rising towards the carnival’s Ferris Wheel is like a heavenly ascent. This is meant to parallel how we view the past as a more enjoyable time, and have raised the past on a pedestal, making it dream-like in quality. The red foreboding light represents the danger of gathering together, and signals the abruptness of the lockdown. The city that leads up to the carnival symbolizes the monotony of remaining stuck inside after all these months. -Carnival of Shadows
